Enterprise systems that have been in service for years hold the processes a business depends on, which is exactly why replacing them outright is rarely realistic. The difficulty is that they were built before integration was an expectation — so the data is sound but unreachable, and every new requirement is quoted as if it were a rewrite.

IMS / CCMS Modernization
Extending an enterprise system and opening it up for integration.
The approach is incremental rather than a replacement. The existing system is analysed and stabilised first, then an API layer is introduced so its data can be reached by modern applications without disturbing the workflows already running on it. That turns a closed system into one that can participate in integrations, and lets migration happen in stages the business can absorb.
